My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, when we consider everything that the Lord has given to us, everything that is good and holy, even if it comes under the guise of a bit of suffering or pain, is meant to help us to attain to our highest good. And what does the Catechism indicate to be the highest good of every man and woman? The eternal salvation of their souls.
Miei cari fratelli e sorelle in Cristo, tutto ciò che il Signore ci dona, anche quando comporta sofferenza o dolore, è destinato ad aiutarci a raggiungere il nostro bene più grande: la salvezza eterna. Le letture di questa domenica sono unite da una bellissima immagine: Dio ha preparato un banchetto e ci invita a partecipare alla Sua vita eterna. Il profeta Isaia annuncia una festa nella quale la morte sarà distrutta, San Paolo ci insegna a confidare nel Signore, e Gesù ci ricorda che l'invito al Regno richiede una nostra risposta.
