Sunday – 23rd Week in Ordinary Time – A
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, peace be with you. As we begin this 23rd Week in Ordinary Time, the readings on this Sunday are united by one theme: fraternal responsibility and correction. Ezekiel tells us that love cannot remain silent when another person is walking toward destruction. Saint Paul gives us the motive. Love is the fulfilment of the law. And Jesus shows us how that love should act when correction becomes necessary. Not through gossip or humiliation, but personally, patiently, and always with the desire to win back our brother.
