Sunday – 17th Week in Ordinary Time – A
In today's readings, we hear about what we value most. We are asked to reflect on what holds priority in our hearts. In today's first reading, we hear about the episode in which Solomon, having just ascended to the throne, receives a dream—a dream from God, who invites him to ask for anything he so desires. As the reading itself describes, God said to him: “Because you did not ask for a long life for yourself, nor for riches, nor for the life of your enemies, but for understanding so that you may know what is right...” (1 Kings 3:11) He answers Solomon's prayer by giving him wisdom.
