Friends in Christ, as we gather to celebrate the life and legacy of Saint John Paul II, we are reminded that he was a pope whose name resonates with hope, peace, and profound faith. For someone born in the 70s, growing up with this pope as a leader in the Church was truly a blessing in many ways. Our readings from Isaiah and the Gospel of John provide us with a beautiful lens through which to reflect on his extraordinary life and mission as a shepherd of the Church.

Amici in Cristo, mentre ci riuniamo per celebrare la vita e l'eredità di San Giovanni Paolo II, ci viene ricordato che è stato un Papa il cui nome risuona di speranza, pace e fede profonda. Per chi è nato negli anni '70, crescere con questo Papa come leader della Chiesa è stata davvero una benedizione sotto molti aspetti. Le nostre letture da Isaia e dal Vangelo di Giovanni ci forniscono una bella lente attraverso cui riflettere sulla sua straordinaria vita e missione di pastore della Chiesa.
