As we proceed gradually and hopefully graciously through Lent, towards the great feast of our Lord’s conquering death for our sakes… the passage from this life to beatitude, which we call his “Passover” (Pasqua, in Italian) we see Jesus honing his sights on Jerusalem. Why? Among some other reasons, that’s where the Holy of Holies is, the temple of God, where "God dwells," and he came to restore that temple to its original glory.

Mentre procediamo gradualmente e, speriamo, benevolmente attraverso la Quaresima, verso la grande festa della morte vinta da nostro Signore per noi... il passaggio da questa vita alla beatitudine, che chiamiamo la sua "Pasqua", vediamo Gesù affinare le sue mire su Gerusalemme. Perché? Perché è lì che si trova il Santo dei Santi, il tempio di Dio, dove Dio abita, ed egli è venuto a riportare quel tempio alla sua gloria originaria.
