Today we celebrate the beautiful memorial of Saint Augustine, a bishop and a Doctor of the Church, whose mother's feast day we celebrated yesterday, Saint Monica. We are taking our readings from the suggested memorial readings for his day, which for the first reading, we will be reflecting on 1 John chapter 4, verse 7 to 16, and for the Gospel, we will be reflecting on Saint Matthew's 23rd chapter, the 8th to the 12th verse.
